Endless nightmare for Juan Martin Del Potro. The Argentine, returned from Miami to celebrate Easter with his family, did not touch the racket for two weeks for an inflamed on his surrgery left wrist. Delpo yesterday returned to training, but his physical problems continue.
The Tandil tennis player joined the Roland Garros with protected ranking, but rejected the wild card for the Estoril tournament, ATP 250 scheduled next week. The Argentine among others will not participate at Rome tournament, since for that event he did not use the protected ranking.
Also according to 'La Nacion', Madrid Master 1000, which starts on May 3rd, would be available to reserve a wild-card for the Argentine, who, however, think that the clay is not the ideal surface to return.
His last match on clay is dated Rome, 2013. In short, he does not play a full season since 2012. Del Potro now doesn't want to compete as soon as possible and in any physical condition, with all the problems; today, his philosophy is much more conservative.
He recognizes the need to treat the wrist that still hurts, and is now inflamed. His coach, Franco Davin, said Delpo did some physical exercises the last two weeks, but he didn't take the racket in hand until yesterday.
"It is an hard work to overcome psychologically" admitted the 26-year old during his last stay in the United States. Delpo has already undergone three operations. Now the future of the Argentinian is more uncertain than ever.
