Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Richard Gasquet to miss Rome event

Many withdrawals by French players at the last minute in the Masters 1000 Rome event. Not only Gael Monfils who has been suffering a tendon injury, but also Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (right shoulder) and Richard Gasquet (back). Robin Haase, Ryan Harrison and Florian Mayer will replace them in the main draw.

Tsonga had withdrawn from his second round match against David Ferrer in Madrid, and he had already said that he didn't know if would have played Rome or not. Gasquet didn't play any match in Madrid as he announced his withdrawal before the tournament started, so far it has been a very bad seasor for him as he also skipped Indian Wells, Miami and Monte Carlo due to an appendix surgery.

Tsonga is committed to play ATP 250 Lyon in ten days before Roland Garros, which is the tournament he but also Gasquet don't want to miss at all. ALSO READ: Jo Wilfried Tsonga reveals he envies Andy Murray .
