Wimbledon - Ferrer Breezes Into Third Round

David Ferrer continued his fantastic year at Wimbledon on Thursday, breezing past 7-6(1), 6-2, 6-4 Kenny de Schepper. The big-serving qualifier showed some flashes of brilliance in the first set, but ultimately Ferrer showed his pedigree by taking control of the match and cruising to victory.

In other action, Belgian sensation David Goffin beat Jesse Levine 4-6, 6-4, 6-1, 6-3, continuing his meteoric rise since the French Open last month. “It was not an easy match today,” Goffin commented afterwards.

“I didn't start very well. I was a little bit nervous because on paper I was [the] favourite, but it's never easy to manage a match like today. I'm feeling good’… [and] I'm really happy to win today.”
