Wimbledon - Fish Beats Belgian Upstart

Just a few weeks removed from heart surgery, Mardy Fish has advanced to the fourth round at Wimbledon. His victory came at the expense of rising Belgian star, David Goffin. Fish looked comfortable from the start of the match, and though he wasn't able to break often, he eventually managed to secure a 6-3, 7-6(6), 7-6(6) win.

“He'll be a good player,” Fish said of his opponent after the win. “He got better and better every set today. I served well and was sort of able to control the match with my serve. I played much better today than I did in the past two matches, for sure.

This was the best player that I played so far. It was windy out there. I used that to my advantage. Growing up in Florida and playing in windy conditions most of my life, that doesn't bother me.” He will next play Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, who defeated Lukas Lacko 6-4, 6-3, 6-3.
