US Open boys' champ Yibing Wu to be hitting partner at ATP Finals

Promising Chinese tennis player Yibing Wu will serve as a hitting partner at the upcoming Nitto ATP Finals. Wu, who turned 18 years last month, conquered the 2017 US Open Juniors event. The Chinese won the boys' singles title, as well as claimed the boys' doubles title with Taiwan's Hsu Yu-Hsiou.

The greats Rafa Nadal and Roger Federer are due to headline the ATP Finals singles field.

Fellow stars Alexander Zverev, Dominic Thiem, Marim Cilic, Grigor Dimitrov, and David Goffin have also secured a spot for the prestigious event. Being around and spending time with some of the biggest names of the game will provide a valuable experience for Wu.

In his first events after the US Open, Wu won it all at the Shanghai Challenger and reached the Chengdu Challenger semi-finals. The Chinese was awarded wildcards into the Shanghai Masters and Chengdu Open but couldn't make it past his openers at the events.

He lost in the Shenzhen 2 Challenger quarter-finals this week to Slovenia's Blaz Kavcic. The Nitto ATP Finals are set to take place from November 12-19 at the O2 in London. Also read: Ivan Dodig and Marcel Granollers last pair to qualify for ATP Finals
