Serbia's Janko Tipsarevic has announced through his Instagram account that he is set to undergo a minor right leg surgery on Tuesday. The 33-year-old remains bothered by the same issue that has caused him so many problems in the last year and a half.
The Serb underlined that a surgery is "a must" if he wants to continue his professional career -- which he "certainly wants." Tipsarevic hasn't played since the US Open. The Serb took his time off to try to heal a leg injury -- but the recovery hasn't gone as he hoped that it would.
Tipsarevic is a four-time ATP singles champion and former world No. 8. The Serb seemed to be doing well just a year ago when he won two ATP Challenger titles in January and two more in April. The 33-year-old quickly improved his ranking and played only at the ATP level events the rest of the 2017 season.
Tipsarevic is now ranked at No. 146. Also read: Tomas Berdych not ready to call it a career
