Ukrainian tennis player Alexandr Dolgopolov has withdrawn from s-Hertogenbosch. The 29-year-old debuted at the Dutch grass-court tournament last year. Back then, the Ukrainian was defeated by Canadian Vasek Pospisil in the last-16.
Dolgopolov's injury-plagued season continues. The 29-year-old has picked up many tournaments withdrawals so far this season. Dolgopolov took a nearly three month lay-off after the Australian Open and returned to action in Marrakech in April.
The Ukrainian lost in the Marrakech first round and then didn't play for another month as he gave a shot to the Rome Masters last month -- only to once again lose in round one. Dolgopolov wasn't ready to feature at the French Open.
The s-Hertogenbosch event is due to be held in the opening week of the grass season -- 11-17 June. Tennis superstar Andy Murray was expected to make his long-awaited return in s-Hertogenbosch next week but he also pulled out of the event.
It remains to be seen will Dolgopolov be ready to make a comeback during the grass season. Also read: Nick Kyrgios able to serve pain-free for first time in three months
