World No. 4 Alexander Zverev, Shanghai Masters runner-up Borna Coric, two-time Grand Slam champion Victoria Azarenka and former world No. 9 CoCo Vandeweghe have signed up to play the World Tennis Challenge in January. Zverev and Azarenka will join 1988 French Open runner-up Henri Leconte in Team Leconte, while Coric and Vandeweghe will team up with Australian tennis legend Pat Cash in Team Cash.
Former world No. 1 Azarenka is delighted to make a stop in Adelaide ahead of her Australian Open campaign. "I'm thrilled to join the field for the World Tennis Challenge in January,” Azarenka said, per the tournament's website.
"This will be my first time visiting Adelaide so I am looking forward to exploring the city and meeting all of the tennis fans too." Nitto ATP Finals champion Zverev is ready to battle against fellow rising star Coric at Memorial Drive in Adelaide.
"(It's) great to be a part of the World Tennis Challenge in January,” Zverev said. "Borna has been in great form lately and I am looking forward to taking to the court against him in Adelaide." 1987 Wimbledon champion Cash played a role in luring her pupil Vandeweghe to Adelaide.
"My coach Pat Cash has told me about the enthusiastic crowd at the World Tennis Challenge and I can’t wait to be a part of it," Vandeweghe revealed. The two teams will battle at Memorial Drive in Adelaide from 7-8 January.
