Tennis - Big-serving South African Kevin Anderson had the opportunity to train with legendary tennis player Martina Navratilova in Delray Beach on Sunday. Anderson has been residing in Delray Beach and will be playing his first event since the Australian Open in January at the BNP Paribas Open.
Anderson tweeted, "Thanks to Martina for coming to my training, it's great both on the court and outside, and I really enjoyed talking and training with one of the best in the history of tennis." The 32-year-old Anderson is currently ranked No.
6 in the world and has a 5-1 record for the year. He won the season-opening event in Pune before going down in the second round of the Australian Open to American Francis Tiafoe. He has missed the New York Open and the ATP event in Mexico due to an elbow injury but has recovered for the first Masters Series event of the season.
Anderson also received a key to the city of Delray Beach last month and the city named February 21st as Kevin Anderson Day.
Thanks to @Martina for coming to my practice yesterday! She’s incredible on and off the court and I really enjoyed chatting with one of the best of our sport. 🙌 pic.twitter.com/pvnWk7J883 — Kevin Anderson (@KAndersonATP) March 3, 2019
