Argentina’s Juan Martin del Potro and Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov are set to play doubles together for the third time as they have signed up to play Queen’s, per Michal Samulski. Del Potro, 30, and 28-year-old Dimitrov are set to play doubles together in Queen’s for the first time as their previous two doubles appearances came at the Montreal Masters two years ago and Indian Wells Masters last year.
In their team debut, del Potro and Dimitrov beat Ryan Harrison and Michael Venus in the Montreal first round before losing to the greatest doubles duo ever, Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan. Del Potro and Dimitrov didn’t impress in their last doubles appearance as they suffered a first round exit in Indian Wells at the hands of Marc Lopez and Feliciano Lopez.
Del Potro, who doesn’t play doubles that much, is set to play doubles at the Queen’s Club for the fifth time in his career. The Argentinian reached three doubles quarter-finals at the Queen’s Club with three different partners.
On the other side, Dimitrov is also set to make his fifth doubles appearance in Queen’s. The Bulgarian has yet to achieve a notable doubles result in Queen’s as he has never made it past the round-of-16. It remains to be seen how far can del Potro and Dimitrov go in Queen’s this June.
