Croatian tennis star Borna Coric will open his 2019 grass campaign in the opening week of the grass season as it appears that he has accepted a wildcard into the Libema Open in 's-Hertogenbosch . The 22-year-old is set to make his main draw debut on the grass courts of 's-Hertogenbosch as he has no previous appearances at the tournament.
The Croatian is also set to have a busier grass season this year as in the past three season he played two tournaments during the grass season -- Wimbledon and one warm-up event for The Championships. Coric, ranked at No.
15 in the world, had no notable results on grass until last year when he stunned Swiss Roger Federer in the Halle final to prevent the 37-year-old from winning his 10th Halle title. Disappointingly, the 22-year-old failed to build on his strong Halle results at Wimbledon as he suffered a first round exit at The All England Club.
Coric could be handed a tough test in the opening week of the grass season as world No. 6 Stefanos Tsitsipas, 2017 Nitto ATP Finals runner-up David Goffin, as well as defending champion Richard Gasquet, are also set to play in 's-Hertogenbosch. It remains to be seen can Coric win it all at the Libema Open and have a dream 's-Hertogenbosch debut.
