Croatian tennis star Borna Coric won't be making his fifth consecutive main draw appearance at The All England Club as he was forced to pull out of Wimbledon due to a back injury. Just over a week ago, the Croatian retired his Halle quarterfinal clash to Pierre-Hugues Herbert after losing the first set but said earlier this week he was hoping to be ready for The Championships.
The 22-year-old made the second round at Wimbledon in his debut appearance four years ago before he picked up three consecutive first round exits at the third Grand Slam event of the season. World No. 14 Coric concludes his 2019 grass campaign with a semifinal showing in 's-Hertogenbosch and a quarterfinal result in Halle respectively.
Coric will be replaced by lucky loser world No. 125 Brayden Schnur, who is set to make his Grand Slam debut at the age of 23. The Canadian fell just short of earning a main draw place through the qualifying as he was beaten in the final round by Italian Salvatore Caruso.
