Six-time ATP champion Pablo Cuevas has joined rising Russian star Daniil Medvedev and former world No. 17 Bernard Tomic on the Wimbledon fines list as the Uruguayan was handed a $10,000 fine for an unsportsmanlike conduct he received, per Ben Rothenberg.
Cuevas, ranked at No. 45 in the world, survived a tough first round as he came from two sets to one down to beat Bosnian Damir Dzumhur 4-6 7-6 (8) 2-6 6-4 6-2 but couldn't do the same in his next match as he was beaten by Czech Jiri Vesely in four sets 4-6 7-6 (5) 6-4 6-4.
The 33-year-old Uruguayan, who was playing at The All England Club for the sixth time in his career, was bidding to make the third round at The Championships for the first time in his career. Former world No. 19 Cuevas still has something to be happy about as he put an end to his Wimbledon drought as he won his first match at The Championships since 2009 to end his five-match losing at the tournament.
