Just like in the good old days, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic have been the players to beat at Grand Slam tournaments since the beginning of 2017, conquering all 11 titles and looking good to grab the 12th at the US Open in three weeks.
After incredible runs and the fact they have taken almost every significant record on the biggest tennis scene, three tennis immortals stand as the most accomplished players with 20, 18 and 16 Majors respectively, pushing each other to the limits for 15 years and battling for every possible title that would give the advantage over the other two rivals.
Roger Federer leads the way but Rafael Nadal is close to him with two Grand Slam crowns left to catch, with Novak Djokovic who has taken four of the last five tournaments to pass Pete Sampras and get Roger's record within his sight.
"In the GOAT battle, people will look for the player who has won more or who they like more, even if Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer finish career with the same number of Grand Slam titles. It is really hard to pick, they are all geniuses in their own way, playing on an incredible level and pushing each other to reach even higher standards.
We could have seen that at Wimbledon as well in the clash between Novak and Roger, delivering some incredible points that the rest of the Tour can't follow. For example, Lucas Pouille played his best set in 2019 against Novak in Cincinnati and he still lost it, which makes you think what they have to do to beat Federer, Nadal or Djokovic.
They all want to end a career with more Grand Slam titles than the other two, it is hard to make a prediction for Roger but I think Nadal and especially Djokovic will conquer more than 20 Slams."
