French tennis star Lucas Pouille has signed up to play at the Erste Bank Open 500 in Vienna, per Michal Samulski. Pouille, ranked at No. 27 in the world, is set to make a fourth consecutive appearance on the indoor-hard courts of Vienna.
Pouille, 25, didn't impress in his Vienna debut as he suffered a first round exit in 2016 but a year later he made it all the way after beating fellow compatriot Jo Wilfried Tsonga in the final. The Frenchman failed to defend his Vienna title last year as he was beaten by world No.
12 Borna Coric in the round-of-16. Pouille, a former world No. 10, will certainly be motivated to make amends for last year's early Vienna exit and make a deep run at the tournament once again. However, the Frenchman won't have an easy job of winning his second Vienna title this year as the tournament is set for a star-studded player field -- led by Dominic Thiem, Daniil Medvedev and Kei Nishikori. The Erste Bank Open will take place from October 21-27.
