Oliver Marach ends year, finds new partner for 2020 season

Austrian doubles specialist Oliver Marach has finished his season prematurely due to a back pain, per Kleine Zeitung Sport. Marach, 39, and his 38-year-old partner Jurgen Melzer haven't enjoyed a good end to the season, having picked up four consecutive first round losses.

The two won't be playing together next year as they have mutually agreed to split and find new partners. Marach is set to team up with South-African Raven Klaasen for the next season, while Melzer will be competing against France's Edouard Roger-Vasselin.

Marach and Melzer played their best tennis of the season after Wimbledon, when they made back-to-back finals in Umag and Hamburg. The Austrians ended runners-up in the Umag final to Robin Haase and Philipp Oswald but they won their lone title of the a year week later when they beat Haase and Wesley Koolhof in the Hamburg final.

However, the two will still be getting some action together next year as they still intend to partner for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
