France's Lucas Pouille, 25, has signed up to play at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, per Michal Samulski. The Frenchman is set to return to Dubai after skipping the event this past season. The 25-year-old will be making his fifth main draw appearance at an ATP 500 event in Dubai next year.
Pouille made four consecutive appearances in Dubai between 2015 and 2018. The Frenchman didn't impress in his first two Dubai appearances, having picked up back-to-back first round losses at the tournament in 2015 and 2016.
After two disappointing showings, world No. 22 Pouille performed much better in his next two Dubai campaigns. Pouille made the Dubai semifinal in 2017, before ending runner-up at the tournament a year later. In his lone Dubai final, the Frenchman was beaten by Spain's Roberto Bautista Agut in two sets.
Pouille will miss the whole January due to an injury but he should be ready for Dubai, which takes place from February 24-29. It remains to be seen can former world No. 10 Pouille make a splash in Dubai next year.
