Rising Croatian star Borna Coric has joined the Argentina Open player field and he will make his debut on the clay courts of Buenos Aires in February, per Michal Samulski. For the first time in his career, the 23-year-old has opted to not play European Indoor tournaments in February as he is set to appear at the Golden Swing.
Coric, ranked at No. 28 in the world, was previously confirmed for the Rio Open as he will also be making his first appearance on the clay courts of Rio de Janeiro in 2020. The Croatian will be playing in back-to-back weeks in February as the Argentina Open will take place between 10-16 February, while the Rio Open is due to be held between February 16-23.
Coric, a two-time ATP champion, won't have an easy job of earning a good result in his Buenos Aires debut as the tournament is set to feature a strong player field. Back-to-back French Open runner-up Dominic Thiem, world No.
8 Matteo Berrettini, defending champion Marco Cecchinato and last year's runner-up Diego Schwartzman are some of the players expected to play in Buenos Aires in 2020.
