Stan Wawrinka to reward Tiafoe if they win Doha doubles

Former world number 3 Stan Wawrinka aims for a good run at the Doha doubles competition as he even offered a special treat to his partner Frances Tiafoe. The 34 years old Swiss arrived early in the capital of Qatar where he has done a lot of different activities besides his usual training sessions.

As a matter of fact, Wawrinka spent the crossing between the years at Doha’s Hamad International Airport. However, one of the coolest things done by Stan since his arrival was going to desert rides using dune buggies.

“Off the court and in to a buggy today! Best way to spend the afternoon off here in Doha!”, Wawrinka described his experience on Instagram. Seeing the kind of fun his partner has, the 21 years old American rising star Frances Tiafoe would have wanted to join him.

“Thanks for the invite bro”, was Tiafoe’s ironic response. Stan had an excuse for not inviting him colleague, but he cheered up the American with a nice deal. “You are not in Doha yet! Let’s win doubles and I invite you after”.

was Stan’s response. Wawrinka and Tiafoe never played doubles together before and their main focus is on the singles draw, so it’s hard to imagine them going all the way up. Stan played doubles in Doha last year as well, but he didn't achieve a notable result as he and partner Karen Khachanov lost to David Goffin and Pierre-Hugues Herbert in the opening round.
