Per Michal Samulski, France's Lucas Pouille has changed his mind and instead of playing in Dubai between February 24-29, that week he will play in Acapulco. Pouille, ranked at No. 22 in the world, suffered a setback at the beginning of the new season when he announced that he would miss the whole January due to an elbow issue.
The 24-year-old Frenchman finished his 2019 season a bit prematurely as he pulled out of Vienna and the Paris Masters to focus on healing his elbow injury as his goal was to enter the 2020 season fully healthy and ready.
Unfortunately, that wasn't the case and now in the best case scenario former world No. 10 Pouille will only miss the January schedule. If five-time ATP champion Pouille doesn't experience any further setbacks, he would make his Acapulco debut at the end of February.
The Acapulco organizers are giving their best effort to put on a strong player field for this year's edition as besides Pouille, world No. 1 Rafael Nadal is also expected to play at the event this coming February.
