Serbia's Filip Krajinovic has withdrawn from the Open 13 Provence in Marseille. Krajinovic, ranked at No. 39 in the world, had been expected to make his fourth appearance in Marseille this year. The Serb debuted at the Marseille event in 2013 before he made back-to-back appearances at the tournament in 2018 and 2019.
Krajinovic, 27, made the Marseille quarterfinal in 2018 while picked up a first round exit at the tournament in 2013 and 2019. The 27-year-old enjoyed successful past two weeks and now he is set to take a brief rest before he returns to action.
Krajinovic made the semifinal at the Open Sud de France in Montpellier last week and backed up his good Montpellier result with a semifinal showing at this week's ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam. Krajinovic had been drawn to meet Marin Cilic in the Marseille first round but instead it will be a qualifier or lucky loser who will be facing the Croatian in the first round. The Serb is expected to return to action at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, which starts on February 24.
