Dominic Thiem returned to action this week
Three months after his last match played on the ATP Tour, Thiem returned to competitive action at the Austrian Pro Series.
The Austrian had been practicing for a while now as Austrian professional players were allowed to return to practices earlier this month. Thiem clashed against lower-ranked players in each of his first three matches at the Austrian Pro Series and claimed three wins.
In his first match played at the Austrian Pro Series, Thiem saw off world No. 293 Lukas Miedler 6-1 6-2. In his following match played, Thiem struggled but still avoided a shock loss as he beat 801th-ranked Sandro Kopp 5-7 6-3 6-0.
But Thiem's performance drastically improved in his third match as he demolished world No. 479 David Pichler 6-0 6-0. Dominic Thiem should be well prepared when the time comes for his invitational tournament.
