Nick Kyrgios has not always behaved correctly on the pitch and has repeatedly disrespected the crowds, his opponents and the umpires. But as everyone knows: the court can often transform an athlete and give the wrong image of a person.
The Australian tennis player has always supported the less fortunate in his everyday life, as his charitable foundation can testify. Kyrgios also told his story a few months ago: that of an overweight boy who is too attentive to the judgments of others.
Precisely for this reason, the player born in 1995 wanted to publish a magnificent post on his Instagram account and offered to help all the people who are not experiencing one of the best phases of their life right now.
"This is for all those who struggle with motivation, who strive for their goal, for those who have days where they don't want to get out of bed. Okay, that's normal. I've done things I'm not proud of, people always tell me I'm a wasted talent, a disappointment.
Nick Kyrgios: "Contact me if you feel lost. I'm here for you"
I faced disgusting racism, people close to me told me they had lost hope. I know what it feels like when you think no one understands the battles you are fighting and that are happening in your head.
I tell you now: enjoy this beautiful life and do what makes you happy. Don't take this opportunity for granted. Feel free to contact me if you feel lost or if you can't go to anyone. I'm here for you." In the photo that accompanies the splendid message, Kyrgios wanted to add part of his story.
"I was very overweight. My coaches and teachers told me I wasn't very good. People relate to others only to say what they can't do and I feel I've proved them wrong." This is the entire Instagram post: "This is for anyone who struggles with motivation, struggles with what their purpose is, for those who have days when you don’t want to get out of bed, ITS OK.
I’ve been to places that I’m not proud of, people telling me all the time, ‘waste of talent’ ‘disappointment’. Dealt with disgusting racism, got told by people close to me they have lost hope.
I know what it feels like when you think no one is understanding the struggles that are in your head. I’m telling you right now, everything will be ok, enjoy this beautiful life in front of you, do what makes YOU happy.
Don’t take this opportunity for granted. Feel free to reach out to me if you are feeling lost, or like you can’t go to anyone. IM HERE for you."
