Former World No. 1 and seven time Grand Slam singles champion Venus Williams made a surprising revelation on her Q&A session on her YouTube channel over the weekend. Williams was asked who she thought was the hottest player on the ATP Tennis Tour - and the 39 year old went back in time for the response.
“Such dreamy guys! I will say that when I was younger my sisters and I, we thought Pete Sampras was hot. And like this is 1990 or whatever and my dad here is talking and saying “You don’t have to like any boys”.
And we were like okay dad (impersonates crying). So since that time I’ve learned not to like any guys on the ATP Tour (winks). You’re still hot. (whispers slyly)”. Venus has one thing in common with Sampras - both are multiple Wimbledon champions.
Venus has won the Wimbledon singles title five times in her career - in 2000, 2001, 2005, 2007, 2008 while Sampras is a seven-time Wimbledon singles champion in 1993, 1994, 1995, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000. Both of them did win the singles title at Wimbledon in 2000.
During her Q&A show, Williams also spoke on a range of other topics, including her sister Serena, her father Richard, her dog as well as her tennis career, the Olympics and her favourite TV shows and favourite candy.
