Australian Open champion Sofia Kenin has tied up with VOSS Water to make a donation to the frontline workers at the Coney Island Hospital in New York. Florida resident Kenin and VOSS have decided to donate 1,020 water bottles for workers at the Coney Island Hospital in New York.
Kenin posted an update on her social media account saying, "Hi everyone, I’m Sofia Kenin. I’m super happy to be in a position to donate 1,020 bottles of water to the wonderful frontline fighters at the Coney Island Hospital, who are fighting this terrible disease.
I hope this puts a smile on their faces during these difficult times. And I wish you all to stay healthy and safe." After receiving their donation, the hospital staff expressed their gratitude for the same. New York has been one of the worst affected regions in the United States due to the pandemic.
Kenin started the season by winning the Australian Open title in January over Spain's Garbine Muguruza. She also won the Lyon Open title prior to the tennis shutdown.
Kenin is currently ranked No. 4 in the WTA world rankings, behind Ash Barty, Simona Halep and Karolina Pliskova.
My friends and I at @vosswater are coming together in making a donation of 1,020 bottles of water to Coney Island Hospital in New York to give the front line heroes a much needed resource during these challenging times.
