Cameron Norrie 'flattered' to join Andy Murray on British Indian Wells finalists list

British tennis star Cameron Norrie is "honored" to join Andy Murray, Tim Henman and Greg Rusedski on the list as an Indian Wells Masters finalist. Norrie, 26, saw off former world No. 3 Grigor Dimitrov 6-2 6-4 to reach his maiden Masters final in Indian Wells.

Norrie is having an outstanding season as he has now been through to his sixth final of the year. However, Norrie hasn't enjoyed much success in previous five finals appearances this year, winning only one title. “It's very special to join Greg, Tim and Andy, legends and icons of British tennis.

Being added to this list is extremely flattering to me. The last two days I've played the two biggest matches of my career, and now it's going to be the biggest match of my career again tomorrow. There is still a lot of work to be done.

I look forward to the opportunity. It's really great to feel so much pressure," Norrie said, per We Love Tennis.

Norrie wants to go a step further

Murray, Henman and Rusedski all made finals in Indian Wells but neither of them captured a title in the desert.

Henman made two finals in Indian Wells and in his second final he easily lost to Roger Federer. “I made the final two years before against Lleyton Hewitt and I only got three games against Hewitt and got six games against Federer,” Henman told

“It was a 100 per cent improvement on my previous final appearance! “In all seriousness, I loved playing in Indian Wells and felt like the conditions were good, it was quite quick through the air and that suited my style.

“In terms of Federer in his most dominant, he won three grand slams in a calendar year on three occasions. That was when I played him at his pinnacle and he was far too good for me”.
