Hibernian FC defender Ryan Porteous is thrilled to be mentored by Andy Murray. The 19-year-old Scottish footballer is one of the six athletes who are a part of Murray's 77 Sports Management company. Porteous has Murray's number and can call him to seek an advice whenever he needs it.
Porteous' fellow teammate Fraser Murray also has a deal signed with Murray's management company. Murray, a three-time Grand Slam champion and a former world No. 1, has always been known for his outstanding commitment and dedication to the game.
"He said that if we feel we need to talk about anything, or need any tips, he'll be there," Porteous told the BBC.. "It's brilliant to have that relationship with someone so big. He's a world icon." Porteous also revealed that he and Fraser made a trip to Wimbledon to meet Murray -- who was interested in knowing more about their training and fitness regime which they have during the off-season and season respectively.
Porteous added that the three-time Grand Slam champion is "interested in all of that." Murray, 31, also advised his two clients on how to live life on the right way. "(Murray also advised us on the) things like diet, keeping quiet at weekends – you don't get how far he has through making the wrong choices," Porteous revealed.
