Nick Kyrgios: 'That’s going to be some shoes that...'

Nick Kyrgios says it would be great if he could play mixed doubles with Ashleigh Barty. In a video for the Tennis Channel, several players were asked which legend they would love to play mixed doubles with. Kyrgios, who reached her first Grand Slam final at Wimbledon this year, named former Grand Slam champion Barty.

After winning this year's Australian Open, Barty announced a surprising retirement from tennis at the age of 25. "I don't think Ashleigh Barty and I have ever been associated, but I think it would be a nice combination," Kyrgios said.

Kyrgios captured the Australian Open men's doubles title with Thanasi Kokkinakis, while Barty won the Australian Open women's singles title. "Ash's father came to see us and told us that the crowd was the best he had ever seen.

Ash is obviously a great player. But people watch my games. Everywhere in the world where I play the stadiums are packed with that reason," Kyrgios said after he and Kokkinakis won the title. Some Australian media outlets interpreted those comments as an attack by Kyrgios on Barty.

Kyrgios then took to Instagram, where he made it clear that he had nothing but love and respect for Barty. "What !"#$ the media. Honestly, I haven't said anything disrespectful to Ashleigh Barty... I'm sad because this year's audience was amazing and I feel like Thanasi Kokkinakis and I were a big part of that.

Ash's father came up to me and even told me that. All I said was when people see me all over the world the stadiums are full, I grew up with Ash, I always knew the potential of her," Kyrgios said in an Instagram Story. Last year, Barty won Wimbledon.

This year, Australia narrowly missed out on another Wimbledon champion, as Kyrgios finished runner-up to Novak Djokovic in The Championships final.

Nick Kyrgios took to his Instagram stories to post a picture of himself "chilling" at home with the following caption: "I'm just chilling, back home taking it all in.

27, playing great tennis, making money, healthy, truly blessed." Novak Djokovic was unable to play at the 2022 Australian Open due to his vaccination status. In a recent interview, Nick Kyrgios gave his take on the matter: “I hope he is here, for the sport.

We just saw one of the legends leave the sport, Roger, and that’s going to be some shoes that no one is ever going to be able to fill," Kyrgios said.
