Tennis - The Australian police arrested 6 people on Friday, who were allegedly forming a team to professionally gamble and fix tennis matches. The allegations regard both international and national match fixing. The arrests took place in the Australian State of Victoria, right where the Australian Open host all the major tennis stars each year in January.
"The investigators are sure that the bets placed by the team involve matches where at least one of the two participants in the tennis match was collaborating to fix the result. Among the allegations also the corruption trying to force others to bet and win on the fixed match" revealed the local police in Victoria.
The 6 arrested, if found guilty, risk up to 10 years in jail. ALSO READ: Richard Gasquet: Roger Federer is the G.O.A.T. Al Qaeda targets the US Open Djokovic, Nadal, Federer prepare for the hard court season
