There have been plenty of good news stories in terms of Australian player rankings following the US Open. Nick Kyrgios has vaulted to within a couple of places of the top 50, while thanks to Sam Groth’s jump of seven places after reaching the second round in New York, Australia again has six men inside the top 100.
Our women are flourishing too – Sam Stosur has returned to the top 20, Casey Dellacqua has hit a career-high mark of No.29 and Jarmila Gajdosova has re-entered the world’s top 100. Outside of the US Open, Aussies have been enjoying plenty of success at Challenger and ITF level as well, leading to some impressive rankings gains.
