Bernard Tomic has been caught up in a tirade with Tennis Australia that seems to never be ending. It all started when Bernard criticized Tennis Australia or its lack of support throughout his career. Needing the young Aussie to compete in Davis Cup, Tennis Australia tried to "clear the air" with Bernard, who was not interested in accepting any proposition.
Often considered one of the bad boys of the Australian new upcoming generation, together with Nick Kyrgios and Thanasi Kokkinakis, Tomic has unfortunately been talked about more for the scandals off court - counting leaked pictures of Tomic enjoying himself at a strip club - rather than his results on the court.
His talent has fallen into the shade of his character, and Tomic found himself stuck in the process of breaking big on the tour. Now Australian tennis legend and former World No 1 Lleyton Hewitt decided to praise Tomic and speak in his favor.
"I talked to Bernard every day when he was playing in Bogotà. He didn't doubt his chances of winning not even once. He only thought about winning the tournament. With those particular conditions, he can play his game at his best" said Rusty. Lleyton also thinks that the statements made by Tomic on Craig Tiley and Pat Rafter have been exaggerated.
