Thanasi Kokkinakis was thrown under the spotlight for all the wrong reasons when his best friend on the tour and countryman Nick Kygios decided to insult Stan Wawrinka. "Kokkinakis banged your girlfriend" said Nick to Stan before the Swiss abandoned the match due to injury in the second set.
The story went viral seconds after the misact happened, but we hadn't had a chance to hear what Thanasi Kokkinakis had to say about it. It appears Kyrgios was referring to WTA tennis player Donna Vekic, allegedly Wawrinka's girlfriend, whom Thanasi played tennis with last year in Australia.
Asked to say something about the mean, Kokkinakis replied rather cold to a Twitter user. The exchange here:
