Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios has shot out a message to tennis authorities via a tweet in which he says he would have been defaulted and suspended till 2025 if he had behaved the way Novak Djokovic did during the final of the Qatar Open in Doha on Saturday.
Djokovic lost his cool twice during the final on Saturday - the first time when he slapped a ball into the crowd which hit a woman and the second time for smashing his raquet in frustration during his three-set win over World No.
1 Andy Murray. Kyrgios was recently asked to serve an eight-week ban by the ATP Tour for not giving his best effort during the Shanghai Masters which was reduced to three weeks after he agreed to undergo counselling. Djokovic himself said that he did not intend to hit anybody and was happy to not have been given a bigger fine.
"I definitely didn't want to hit the ball at anybody. Just happened. Fortunate not to get a bigger fine. I have to be more careful I guess. I accept that I made a mistake." Also Read - Novak Djokovic Says He Will Be Fined for Hitting a Spectator with a Ball
