Federer, Evert and Gilbert all defend Kyrgios from crowd booing

On Twitter the opinions about the crowd booing Nick Kyrgios during his three-sets loss to Roger Federer, who won 7/6 after three hours and 10 minutes, did not lack. Also Mirka, Roger's wife, booed Nike, who in the third set tie-break when he was up 5-4 said: 'Shut up, ' to a spectator who had bothered Kyrgios.

The 18-time Grand Slam Champion Chris Evert and the tennis coach and analyst Brad Gilbert criticized Miami crowd. 'I felt bad that so few people rooted for Cheerios Kyrgios he gave everything he had out there tonight vs Fedfan', Gilbert wrote.

'Ok Miami Open crowd, give Nick Kyrgios a break...

I'm hearing lots of boos for no reason...', Evert tweeted.

Also Federer was supportive towards Kyrgios as he said: 'The crowds jump on it pretty quickly.

But it makes for a good atmosphere I guess at the end of the day, so it's not all that bad. Of course I think he's good for the game at the end of game.' ALSO READ: Roger Federer: 'I could play against Nadal today! But it will be a mountain to climb'
