Former world number one Boris Becker has sent an encouraging message to promising Nick Kyrgios. Kyrgios had a great run at the Miami Open, before falling to Swiss Roger Federer in the semi-final. The 35-year-old handed a three-set loss to the Australian in a heavily contested encounter 7-6 (9) 6-7 (9) 7-6 (5).
World number 16 Kyrgios had a notable campaign at the Indian Wells Masters before he arrived in Miami. Unfortunately, his campaign in the desert came to an end after he announced that he was forced to pull out before his quarter-final match against Federer due to suspected food poisoning.
Former coach of Lleyton Hewitt and Andre Agassi, Darren Cahill, praised heavily the match between Kyrgios and Federer.
The 2017 tennis season has just entered its fourth month.
Omar Jasika, a 19-year-old tennis player from Australia, clearly wasn't disappointed by Kyrgios' performance against Federer.
At the end of 2017, I'm pretty sure we'll look back on that Federer vs Kyrgios match & it'll be in the top 5 for the year. Congrats to both. — Darren Cahill (@darren_cahill) April 1, 2017
