Australian tennis player Jason Kubler is hoping to repeat last year's Wimbledon success and once again qualify for the main draw at The All England Club. The 26-year-old made it past the Wimbledon qualifying event last year to make his main draw debut at The Championships.

The Australian then failed to clinch his maiden main draw win at Wimbledon as he was beaten by Guido Pella in four sets in the first round. Now a year later, world No. 189 Kubler is just a win away from once again making the Wimbledon main draw.

The Australian beat Norbert Gombos 7-6 (5) 7-6 (1) in the qualifying second round to set up a final round meeting against Yasutaka Uchiyama. "Last year I did well around this time and then went on a little run. So if I could do that again that'd be great, but I've gotta get through tomorrow still," Kubler said post-match, per Tennis Australia Twitter.

Kubler's fellow compatriot Andrew Harris is also on the verge of making the Wimbledon main draw. The 25-year-old handed a straight-set loss to Enrique Lopez-Perez before he stunned Sergiy Stakhovsky in three sets to set up a final round meeting against Corentin Moutet.

"That's two matches on grass in a row now against quality opponents. I think I really started playing well in the second and third sets ... and I expect to play even better tomorrow," Harris said post-match, per Tennis Australia Twitter.
