Carlitos Alcaraz lived a rather emotional moment, receiving a truly exceptional honor, considering that he is only a 20 year old boy. The Spanish tennis player was honored by the Ferrero Tennis Academy, his home for the last five years and a key place in his evolution.

The Academy has dedicated one of the fields of the Villena facility to him, which from today will bear his name, renamed the Carlos Alcaraz Track. The yoiung Spanish tennis player himself was present at the naming ceremony, along with his coach Ferrero, who still wears a splint on his right leg after the surgery he underwent this season, and some special guests.

The plaque with the name of the Spanish player was shown for the first time in a ceremony which was also attended by Jannik Sinner, who trains in the Academy with Carlitos. Another clear testimony of the mutual respect and esteem between the two young stars of world tennis.

The Italian tennis player was immortalized while he was busy taking some photographs of his colleague.

Alcaraz, visibly moved by the honor received, thanked the club, his coach and everyone present for the recognition he received.

"I hope that these five years of work are the first of a long career," he explained. After the good moment in his homeland, it will be a busy few weeks for the Spaniard, to arrive at 100% in Melbourne and try to win his first Australian slam of his career.

Carlitos is working to best prepare his return to the Australian Open, the first slam of the year, which he was forced to miss due to injury in 2023. The 20-year-old Spaniard will not play any official match before the Australian Major, but will be the protagonist of an exhibition match against number one Novak Djokovic on December 27th.
