Alexander Zverev is certainly disappointed. Second Slam final and second defeat. Again in 5 sets, just like at the 2020 Us Open against Dominic Thiem. The German tennis player is very clear about what was the difference between him and Carlos Alcaraz.

“The intensity with which Carlos plays tennis,” Zverev said, “is different than the others. Success in Rome and the final in Paris lost: however, Zverev is in a different frame of mind from his first Slam final.

"I feel I did well today. There were very unfortunate moments in the fifth set. His serve on 2-1 was not good, I saw it from Hawkeye. If I had made the break there ... ” he says referring to Alcaraz's service ball contested in the fifth set but ruled good by the umpire.

"I had other break chances but it didn't go well for me. That's how it went, he played amazingly, better than me in the fourth and fifth sets, however, I feel that in this final I did everything I could. At the 2020 Us Open I didn't have this feeling."

Toni Nadal was quick to give his assessment of what happened in the Roland Garros 2024 final in his ElPais column, showering praise on Carlos Alcaraz, of whom he said that in a short time he will be among the best in the history of tennis.

Toni Nadal considers that the way Carlos Alcaraz maintained concentration and did not lose his nerve after falling in the third set is proof of what a great champion he is. Regarding Alexander Zverev, he had an interesting reflection as he considers that he was unable to push as he should have at the beginning of the fourth set, letting himself be carried away by nerves and showing unjustifiable frustration, which gave wings to Carlitos.

Alcaraz, down two sets to one, broke away in the fourth set. "I lost concentration there, I had no strength in my legs for the serve, something strange” – Zverev said.

“I don't usually get tired, I don't have cramps, usually. Again, Carlos has a different intensity, so maybe that's how it is. I might have to look at my preparation, how I do things physically” – he added.
