As tradition Carlos Alcaraz, reigning champion will play the first match on the Central Field in the first day. After an untimely defeat at Queen’s, in which he was beaten in the round of 16 by Draper, Alcaraz is aiming for an encore after last year’s victory in the final against Novak Djokovic.

The 2024 Roland Garros champion certainly can not complain about the draw since he avoided several loose mines not included between the seeders and his path at least on paper seems to be much easier than that of his two main rivals, Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic.

Carlos Alcaraz is motivated

Carlos Alcaraz - after winning the Roland Garros - explained to the media that the problem with the forearm that strongly affected him in the first part of the season on clay seems to be definitely overcome.

Speaking at an event organized by Babolat in which were also present Holger Rune and Cameron Norrie among others said expressly to be in London with the aim of reconfirming the title won in 2023. " I feel like I don’t have any more injuries, that I can hit freely, 100% without thinking about it.

We did a great job. The clay season was difficult, but I no longer felt any pain". And to a specific question about what his goal for this Wimbledon is: "I’m here to get the same result as last year", were the words of the Iberian. That’s winning the title.

For the first time an Italian comes as the first preclassified of the tournament, with a Jannik Sinner who starts as a big favorite to fight for the title that is in the hands of Carlos Alcaraz and with a Novak Djokovic who will finally be in the London Major.
