First Challenger quarter-final for Michael Mmoh in Las Vegas, Taylor Fritz beaten by Zemlja

Three Americans aged seventeen played at home Challenger in Las Vegas today, with only Michael Mmoh scoring win. This is just the second tournament of this rank for promising player born in ''98 hut he is already in quarter-final, after taking Futures title last week (read more about it HERE).

He beat veteran Lapentti from Ecuador after 2 hours, 6-3 3-6 6-3. Michael played better in sets he won, even after being broken in each one, but one break more in the end was enough. Decisive moment came in 8th game of third set when he broke Lapentti and served out for the match, winning the last three games and securing a place in the last 8 where he will play against Thiemo de Bakker.

Frances Tiafoe easily lost to 5th seed Blaz Rola, being broken 4 times. Slovenian won 6-1 6-4 after just 67 minutes. Impressive winning strike of Taylor Fritz finally came to an end, after 11 Challenger victories in 3 weeks.

He won first set over Zemlja in tie break, but had nothing more in the tank, losing next two sets 6-2 6-2, as Zemlja broke twice in each. Still, he can be very pleased with what he done over such a short time, and we will for sure see a lot more from him very soon.
