Up next for XULA, 3-1 and fifth-ranked in the NAIA, will be three games in the Grizzly Invitational in Lawrenceville, Friday against Cumberland, 1pm Saturday against Georgia Gwinnett and Sunday at 10am against Lindsey Wilson.

Cumberland was 13th, Georgia Gwinnett first and Lindsey Wilson eighth in the NAIA Preseason Coaches Poll, but new rankings will be announced Wednesday. Menwhile, As reported by the XULA website, Xavier University of Louisiana's Jacobi Bain was announced on Tuesday as the RRAC Weekly Winner for February 6-12.

Bain won multiple end-of-season men's tennis awards as a freshman in 2022, but no Red River Athletic Conference Player of the Week awards. Those went to teammates who played higher up the singles lineup, eight awards in all.

Bain, is now XULA's No. 1. Bain, of Nassau, Bahamas, won doubles and singles Sunday in XULA's only game of the week, a 4-3 home win over cross-town rival Loyola. Bain and Dedric Ray beat Hippolyte de Preville and Aubin Duchier of the Wolf Pack 6-2 on the second court of doubles, then Bain won 7-6 (7-5), 6-3 against Francisco Javier Arce Vieyra.

It is the second week in a row that the Gold Rush has won the RRAC award. Mathieu Strauss was awarded for January 30-February. 5.
