The Auburn University women's tennis team will host Texas Tech and South Alabama today, in its first home dual matches of the season. The Tigers will face Texas Tech at 11am CT and South Alabama at 3pm CT at the Yarbrough Tennis Center.
Auburn will enter today's doubleheader with two straight wins at the ITA Kickoff Weekend in Durham, North Carolina. In Durham, the Tigers defeated Denver and No. 15 Duke to qualify for the 2024 ITA Indoor Team Championships.

Entry to both matches at the Yarbrough Tennis Cener will be free and fans will be offered a free pizza between the two matches while supplies last. Live streaming video and live statistics from each game will be available online at

On Wednesday, sophomore DJ Bennett's standout performance at the event earned her first SEC Player of the Week award of the season. Bennett won each of her singles matches in straight sets, and her victory over 74th-ranked Ellie Coleman secured the team's victory over Duke. She and Adeline Flach also scored double points in the game against Duke. Bennett has a 12-6 overall record in singles and holds a 14-4 record in doubles this season.

Carolyn Ansari and Ariana Arseneault will also participate in Sunday's doubleheader, as both Tigers won their respective singles matches in straight sets. Ansari defeated Denver's Andrea Beltran and Duke's Shavit Kimchi in the No. 65 ranking. 1 while Arseneault defeated Denver's Britt Pursell and Duke's Emma Jackson at No.

Texas Tech's record is currently 1-2 after the team's ITA Kickoff Weekend featured back-to-back losses to No. 1 opponents. 11 of Virginia and no. Wisconsin 24 in Charlottesville, Virginia. Sunday's game will be the second half of a homestand against the Red Raiders, after the Tigers won a dramatic road game 4-3 last season in Lubbock, Texas.
In the ITA individual rankings, Texas Tech's Cristina Tiglea is ranked 69th in singles, while Metka Komac and Avelina Sayfetdinova are the fifth-ranked doubles team in the country. Komac and Sayfetdinova hold an overall doubles record of 9-2 this season.
South Alabama has a perfect 3-0 record this season, with wins over West Alabama, Florida A&M and West Florida earlier in the season. The Tigers and Jaguars have faced each other 19 times in program history, with Auburn holding a 10-9 edge in the all-time series. Sunday's game will mark the first time the national foes have faced each other in a doubleheader since 2007.
