The Commodores now await NCAA selections

The Vanderbilt University women's tennis team was defeated by Texas A&M, 4-0, on Friday at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in the SEC tournament.

The Commodores now await a potential selection bid for the NCAA Regionals, which will be played May 3-5 with selections made April 29.

In doubles, Célia-Belle Mohr and Holly Staff earned a 6-2 victory over Mary Stoiana and Mia Kupres, and Vanderbilt was one win shy of the doubles point. Bridget Stammel and Valeria Ray fell to Nicole Khirin and Carson Branstine. Anessa Lee and Amy Stevens were defeated by Lucciana Perez and Jeanette Mireles, and the Aggies took double points.

In singles, Stoiana defeated Stammel in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3, and Ray fell to Khirin on Court 3 shortly thereafter. A&M won the match as Perez defeated Staff 6-3, 6-3.
