University of Central Florida men's tennis head coach, John Roddick, announced that Rene Vidal joins the Knights as a volunteer coach. For 6 years, he was in charge of René Vidal Companies, a business specializing in leadership training for elite athletes, teams, and organizations.

Vidal graduated with a degree in public administration in 1992, and he brings coaching experience from SIU, Boise State, Mississippi State and Colgate.

"We are very excited about the addition of Coach Vidal to our staff," Roddick said. "He brings a tremendous amount of experience and success with him.

He is going to be a great asset to our program and the team is excited to begin working with him."

"It's an honor to work with John, Phil, and the UCF men's tennis program," said Vidal. "We're looking forward to a great season."
