Div I / M: TCU notch 7th straight win, beating Oklahoma State 4-0 in Big 12 opener

Michael and Anne Greenwood Tennis Center in Stillwater, Oklahoma, was the place of the opening Big 12 Conference duties for both Oklahoma State Cowboys and TCU Horned Frogs, and it was the guests who delivered a better performance, claiming a 4-0 triumph.

The Horned Frogs kicked off the season with a mediocre 5-4 score but they are now on a 7-match winning streak, standing at 12-4 overall. Oklahoma State fell to 17-4, losing the first match in the last 10 encounters, as they were unable to pull themselves together on singles courts.

Cameron Norrie/Trevor Johnson gave the Horned Frogs a very nice start, beating Artur Dubinski/Lukas Finzelberg 6-1 on court 3, just before the Cowboys leveled the score when Julian Cash/Arjun Kadhe bested Reese Stalder/Jerry Lopez 6-2 on the main court.

The battle for the opening point came down to court 2, and it were Guillermo Nuñez/Alex Rybakov who ousted Lucas Gerch/Jurence Mendoza 6-4 to hand the first point for TCU, setting the tone for the rest of the tie. Cameron Norrie continued his great run, claiming his 12th win of the season after a 6-4 6-2 triumph against Julian Cash on the main court, overcoming a 4-1 deficit at the start of the match.

Guillermo Nuñez backed his teammate when he bested Lucas Gerch 6-2 6-2 on court 3, sending the Horned Frogs 3-0 up, and it was all over when his doubles partner Alex Rybakov defeating Arjun Kadhe 6-1 6-4 on court 2.

Remaining 3 matches on the lower courts were abandoned, all in the second set and Oklahoma State had a positive result in 2 of those, but it was a little bit too late for any kind of changes.
