Australia are set to play hosts to USA in the quarterfinals of the Davis Cup tie on the coming weekend. But the Australian team will be led by Nick Kyrgios who wouldn’t have any other top player playing alongside him.
The fact that there will be other big players in the Australian team has not gone un-noticed by team USA captain, Jim Courier who has tried to put the pressure on Kyrgios by saying that it will be a tough job for the World No 16.
“I can’t speak for Nick but I can tell you I got great comfort when I was playing alongside Andre (Agassi) or Todd Martin or Pete Sampras,” Courier said. “I did feel there was some other cavalry and I’m not saying that Jordan isn’t cavalry because he is, but he doesn’t have the pedigree or ranking of Bernie (Tomic).” On the other hand, the visiting USA team will be led by Jack Sock, John Isner, Sam Querrey and Steve Johnson.
