Slovenia Davis Cup Team Gets New Captain

Tennis - Miha Mlakar will be the new Davis Cup captain for Slovenia, replacing Blaz Trupej, who had been the captain of the Slovenian team for the past 12 years. According to Tennis Tour Talk, Trupej commented, “The goal is to get into the Group I Division.

If the entire team is fit and we do not have to deal with injuries, we will have a good chance to do so.” Slovenia will play Poland in the first round of the Group II Europe/ Africa Division tie in early February next season.

Mlakar will be joined by Andraz Bedene as co-captain. Bedena is the twin brother of World No. 49 Aljaz Bedene, who plays under the British flag but is not able to play for Great Britain in the Davis Cup. Also Read - Roger Federer on what he is looking forward to in 2018 .
