John McEnroe: I will always have great memories of St. Louis

Former world No. 1 John McEnroe says he will always have great memories of the city of St. Louis because of the famous Davis Cup match he played there in 1982. Back in 1982, McEnroe edged out then the 17-year-old Mats Wilander 9-7 6-2 15-17 3-6 8-6 in the deciding fifth rubber of the United States versus Sweden quarter-final tie.

The match came to an end after six hours and 35 minutes, while the third set alone lasted two hours and 39 minutes. McEnroe, 59, recalled the match while in St. Louis for his Thursday's match at the Invesco Series QQQ Tennis.
