Croatian tennis star Marin Cilic absolutely enjoyed every moment of the 2018 Davis Cup final between his side and France. France hosted Croatia in Lille at Stade Pierre Mauroy but failed to claim the title in front of the 25,000 home fans as the hosts won 3-1 to lift their second title in the competition.
Cilic, the 2014 US Open champion, led his side against France as he was a key part in the Croatia win. Cilic handed a straight-set defeat to Jo Wilfried Tsonga in the opening day, before he beat Lucas Pouille in three sets in the fourth rubber to bring his side the title.
"It was an incredible feeling last year,” Cilic told the Davis Cup Finals website. ”We had an incredible atmosphere in our team when we played France in the final with that many people in the stadium - nearly 25,000 - watching tennis, cheering us. It was a day to remember. It’s going to be a pleasure for us to battle it out in a different format”.
