Spanish tennis star Pablo Carreno Busta has underlined that his team can't afford to take any team from their group for granted at the inaugural Davis Cup Finals. The Spaniards will be extremely motivated make a splash at the event's inaugural edition in front of their home fans in Madrid from November 18-24.
Spain haven't been handed an easy group as they will share Group B with Croatia and Russia. "Obviously, I think that this group is very complicated. It can be said that we were not very lucky with the draw,” Carreno Busta told the Davis Cup Finals.
“But I also think that we have a very competitive team both in singles and doubles. I hope the results go our way from the start. We have to be at our best from the first match because Russia also have very competitive players."
Most importantly for Spain, world No. 1 Rafael Nadal has made himself available. "Of course for us, having the world´s No.1 player gives you some reassurance," Carreno Busta added.
